Things you want to know when ordering the best golf clubs

Every time you buy a new club, line up the 13 clubs (excluding the putter)!
By arranging the clubs, the swing required by the club will be evened out, making it easier to hit all shots with one swing.

If you can't hit a club well or have a club that you're not good at, it may be because the swing required by the club is different.

First, have a club that you can use in one swing.
When you buy a new club, it's a chance to get your overall order in order.

It is difficult to set the details due to weight settings by manufacturer and production errors of parts, but it is important to pay attention to the overall arrangement.

Align golf clubs

The 13 clubs, excluding the putter, have a regular arrangement.

The driver has the lowest loft value, the lightest head, and the longest shaft.
A fairway wood has more loft than a driver, and the head is a little heavier. The heavier the head, the harder the shaft will need to be.

-The club head becomes heavier.
・The shaft becomes stiff.
・The overall importance of the club becomes heavier.
・Loft angle increases.
Meeting this condition will improve the alignment of your clubs.
It is difficult to match even the exact numbers, but it is important to arrange the flow of the 13 lines.

Using 13 clubs in one swing

Let's make the swing the club wants!

If you line up your clubs without understanding the rules, the required swing will be different depending on the club, and the required swing will be different for each club.

It is difficult to master even one swing, but it is even more difficult to use multiple swings depending on the club.
“I hit the woods well today, but my irons weren’t very good.”
“I had a bad shot, but I managed to get the score together with my approach.”
You may need to question the regularity of your club set.

Being able to use 13 golf balls in one swing makes golf easier

R or S

The shaft is marked with an alphabet indicating its hardness.
R/S/X/L/A etc.

The standard of hardness for this alphabet symbol varies depending on the manufacturer and series.
Even if you remember that R is suitable for you, you can't really rely on it because the hardness varies depending on the club and shaft you choose.

Although it is possible to determine the hardness using a vibration meter, it is difficult to match accurately as the hardness will vary depending on the characteristics of the shaft.

Unlike weight and angle, there is no standard for shaft hardness. It's difficult to be precise, but it's something to keep in mind.

Club balance

According to R&A rules, golf clubs measure 14 inches.
The weight of the head is quantified using the fulcrum 14 inches (approximately 35.5 cm) from the end of the grip.

The timing at which the head descends varies depending on the hardness of the shaft, so consider the weight and hardness of the shaft when determining club balance. and set it.

In other words, there is no point in setting the same balance for clubs that do not have the same hardness. In order to set the club balance to a certain level, it is necessary that the shaft rules are in place. .

GC Quad

In recent years, very sophisticated ballistic measuring instruments have been released.
I believe that the way we think about clubs and swings will change due to the evolution of this measuring device.

Until now, we had to visually judge the flight of the ball, but with high-performance measuring instruments, the trajectory is quantified. By accumulating numerical data, we are beginning to see what the ideal trajectory would be.

In particular, the GC Quad is a measuring instrument suitable for club fitting as it can simultaneously measure head trajectory and ball trajectory.
The performance of clubs is improving day by day, but there is no club that will fly and bend no matter who uses it.
The deeper the center of gravity of the head, the easier the ball will rise, but when hit by a hard hitter, it will fly up and lose distance.
A shaft that bends and returns quickly will increase head speed, but it may be difficult to determine the direction depending on the user.

When it comes to clubs and shafts, if you improve the performance of something, you will also reduce the performance of something else.
There is no club that suits everyone, so you need to choose a club that suits you.

About lie angle

I would like to talk a little about lie angle.

Lie angle is a number that indicates whether the clubhead is parallel to the ground at impact.
This was also difficult to understand because until now there was no machine that could accurately measure the lie angle at impact. Even though the face is pointing straight toward the target at impact, if the lie angle is not flat, the launch angle of the ball may not match the target, or the ball will tend to curve due to side spin.

Most customers swing without knowing their lie angle.
Those who have been golfing for a long time have practiced hard enough to master the swing to hit the ball straight even at a lie angle that doesn't suit them.

If you start using a club with an appropriate lie angle for people like this, you will no longer be able to hit the ball with the same image as before.
It's very important to adjust the lie angle of the club to suit you, but I also think it's important not to sacrifice your swing.
